The Caregiver business fills an important niche in the senior care market. As today's
elderly population continues to live longer, the demand for non-medical supervision is
exploding. Previously, when seniors required assistance with their ADLs, either
as a result of a condition, such as a stroke, hip replacement, or the onset of dementia or
Alzheimer's, the options available to them were few. They could sell their
house and move to a long-term care facility, or they could move in with their children.
But neither solution is ideal. On the one hand, long-term care facilities are expensive,
impersonal and often hard to get into, while moving in with children shifts the burden of
care and responsibility onto the family, something many seniors are reluctant to do.
The logical solution is in-home care.
